For your consideration is a one owner 1997 Martin D1-R with its original TKL hardshell case, both in very good to excellent. Out of the handful of dreadnought Martin guitars that I've owned, as well as all of the other models, there have only been 2 that been worth keeping because of how amazing they sound. This is one of the 2. Please read this description in its entirety, look through all pictures and reach out with questions prior to purchasing as I do not accept returns.
This guitar was purchased by its original owner from the world famous Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island, NY in 1997. It ultimately moved out to California with him and remained in his possession until I acquired it. It's been extremely well taken care of and has the original paperwork and receipt from the purchase (see last picture).
There are couple of noticeable dings on the face of the body and the obvious play and strumming wear. It's had a refret job so there is plenty of life on them. The rosewood fingerboard has signs of wear but no major divots. The strap button was removed and was routed for a 1/4" input jack, however there is no pickup, input jack or strap button currently on the guitar. The back of the neck has glossed nicely from years of playing and the rosewood back has a beautiful, dark shine to it. Tuning machines work perfectly. No cracks or repairs. Completely original except for the fret job and strap button removal as previously mentioned. Weight is approximately 4 lbs 4 oz. I will update this listing at a later time with the rest of the specs on this guitar.
